Privacy Policy

What information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it.

Last updated: May 31, 2026

This policy explains how Lexi The Notary handles information collected through this website and during notarial work. Our office is at 1022 Samsonite Blvd, Suite A, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.

1. What we collect

Through our contact forms. The appointment form collects your name, phone number, email address, document type, preferred date, location preference, and any notes you choose to share. The corporate inquiry form collects company name, contact name, phone, work email, industry, monthly document volume, and any notes. We use this information to respond to your request and to schedule and deliver service.

During service. To perform a notarial act, Tennessee law requires us to verify your identity. We record information from your government-issued photo ID (name, ID type and number, expiration), along with the date, type of notarial act, and your signature, in our notary journal. The journal is kept as required by Tennessee law and is not used for marketing.

Automatically. Our web host’s standard server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and pages requested. We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts on this site, and we do not set first-party cookies.

2. Third-party services we use

Formspree processes submissions from our contact forms and delivers them to our inbox. Information you enter into a form is transmitted to and stored by Formspree under their own privacy practices, available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site (Libre Caslon and Source Sans 3). When the page loads, your browser requests the fonts from Google’s servers; this may include your IP address. We do not use Google Analytics or other Google tracking products on this site.

3. How we use what we collect

  • To respond to inquiries and confirm appointments.
  • To perform and document the notarial act you have requested.
  • To meet record-keeping requirements imposed on Tennessee notaries.
  • To send service-related communications (appointment confirmations, follow-up about a specific signing).
  • To prevent fraud and protect the security of our records.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing.

4. How long we keep it

Contact-form messages are kept for as long as is needed to complete the requested service and for a reasonable period afterward. Notary journal entries are kept for the period required by Tennessee law. You may ask us to delete contact-form data we hold about you, subject to any legal retention requirement that applies to notarial records.

5. How we protect it

The website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. The notary journal is kept secure at our office. We limit access to client information to those who need it to deliver service.

6. Your choices

You can request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of contact-form data we hold about you. Notarial journal records cannot be deleted on request — they are public records under Tennessee law and may be inspected by the Secretary of State or by court order. To make a request, contact us using the information below.

7. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
