Tennessee law caps the fee a notary may charge at $5.00 per notarial act — that is, per signature notarized. It applies statewide. Any additional charges (travel, after-hours) are separate service fees, not notarial fees.
How does mobile notary pricing work?
Mobile service starts at a $75 minimum per visit, which includes a security escort. The minimum covers the visit; additional signatures are $5 each. Beyond 15 miles from Murfreesboro, $0.67 per mile is added.
What counts as premium hours?
Weekdays after 6 PM, weekends and holidays. Premium / after-hours service is $75 per visit and is available for business and office locations only — after-hours residential visits are not available.
